The Morgenstadt Global Smart Cities Initiative (MGI) has been officially concluded. The three pilot projects are fully implemented and in use in Piura, Kochi and Saltillo. For the occasion, the MGI consortium looks back at four years of transforming cities for the future.
The initiative has achieved great outcomes. For the first time, the e Morgenstadt Methodology was applied to the context of emerging economies outside of Europe. Our City Lab teams have demonstrated that this global approach is useful for analyzing the risks and challenges that the distinct climatic environments of the three pilot cities bear.
Based on this method, they successfully developed locally tailored solution to these challenges and implemented user centered pilot projects that integrate environmental and social sustainability.
In sum, by fostering fruitful cooperations between specialists and stakeholders of different sectors and backgrounds, our experts and partners co-created a strategic vision to keep transforming the pilot cities in the future.
In this video, some of the incredible people who have contributed to the development of the initiative during the past four years look back at their highlights and lessons learned of this journey.
