Gerhard Stryi-Hipp

Biography

Gerhard Stryi-Hipp is an energy expert with 30 years of experience in the renewable energy sector and international projects in Europe and Asia. He has been collaborating in the Kochi City Lab of MGI since 2018. His role is to develop solution approaches to transform the energy supply of the city of Kochi towards climate neutrality. An important aspect of this is to stimulate local solar power generation and address the associated technical challenges. A pilot project is planned for this purpose in the Elamakkara neighborhood. Gerhard’s field of expertise lies in creating energy concepts for climate-neutral neighborhoods and cities, often called solar cities. In addition to developing the design of the climate-neutral energy systems, the development of roadmaps with concrete measures to implement the transformation is also an important part of his work.
